Ninja Hideout!
We’ve seen so many of you having fun hanging out with your ninja buddies in the Ninja Hideout – There have been a lot of Cloud Waves happening before penguins disappear, so I know that tons of you already have the new item from the Martial Artworks catalog! It might be fun to try out your new ability all over the island, and to show other penguins the way of the ninja…

In Other News: Some of you have asked about a visit from Sensei on the Spanish servers, and we wanted to let you know that he just couldn’t make it there for this first visit. He’ll be making more appearances in the future. In the meantime, we’d really love to hear what you think about the new Cloud Wave ability!
Until then…Waddle on!

Hello Penguins!
There’s a lot of excitement for ninjas today because it’s the very first time that Sensei has made an appearance outside of the Dojo! Our favorite ninja master will be making appearances in the Ninja Hideout until July 5, and we hope you get a chance to meet him.
With his visit, there’s a Martial Artworks catalog update with a new item called the Cloud Wave Bracers. They’ll give ninjas the extra ability to disappear into a cloud before turning invisible… Let us know if you’ll be saving up your coins so you can add them to your inventories. (I will!)
The team was really excited about having the possibility to meet Sensei and I was thinking that if I got the chance, I might ask him if he likes puffles. What would you say or ask if you got the chance to hang out with Sensei? Let us know!
Until then…Waddle on!

My favorite part of training to be a Ninja is playing Card Jitsu! Its so fun to play with the other penguins. Just think; you could be playing Card Jitsu with people all around the World!! How cool is that, right?
Thanks, Tweety Girl3!
There’s a new play coming soon and the team was talking about all the ways to get creative at the Stage… costumes, scripts, Switchbox 3000, directing, being part of the audience – and more! We were wondering what you think. What’s your favorite thing to do at the Stage?
Leave your comments (try to keep them between 50 – 75 words) and we’ll pick an answer to feature next week!

In other news: Check back on Monday because we have something really special to announce! And keep your eyes to the skies because there are going to be some fireworks happening sometime soon. As always, we’d love to hear from you so let us know what you think.

My favorite music in Club Penguin has to be the music played at Music Jam 08.From pop to hip-hop, there was music for everyone. I had a great time playing with my all-time favorite band, The Penguin Band and taking center stage and pretending I was actually in a band! We also made our own music with DJ3K,a game launched for the party, which was also very cool.
Thanks, Puffyjc!

Stay tuned this week for some music updates! On Friday you’ll find some new music in your igloo, and that’s not all. Also coming on Friday is a DJ3K update in the Night Club. Members will be able to purchase exclusive music tracks from a special catalog – and then take them right into the game!

There’s been some talk of yellow puffles being quite enthusiastic about the update to the DJ3K game… We’ll have to see what that’s all about on Friday.

There’s always a lot going on in Club Penguin, and it’s hard to believe that we’re already into the third week of 101 Days of Fun!! During the next few months there’s so much happening! I don’t want to give everything away, of course, but there are some things that are too exciting for you to miss. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the things to come:
The team’s been working hard to get a ton of stuff ready to make the next few months really special:
Parties – I can’t give them all away… but did someone say “MASSIVE music festival”?
Costumes & items at the Stage! (Ruby’s coming back!)
New clothing, wigs, and furniture!
Game upgrades – Members will see (and hear) some cool changes to DJ3K and more!
New Rooms – There’s going to be some construction – renovations AND new places!
Special Appearances – I can’t say too much, but some of our favorite penguins will be visiting… And there might be a chance to hang out with a wise Card-Jitsu master…

Note that not all of these following, are parties such as Coins for Change. The following are the names of the parties along with the Free item(s) associated with the party beneath it.
See the Event Gallery for pictures from these events and parties.
All require tickets (At the prize shop) (Plaza)
All are member items (Back Stage)
All require 250 coins and have to have membership (Snow Forts)

Card-Jitsu is a card game played in the Dojo (and in the Ninja Hideout). To get there, players need to go to the Dojo Courtyard and enter through doors (if you are a Ninja, go to the Dojo Courtyard, hover your mouse over the protruding stone wall on the left, and click the door that will automatically appear to enter the hideout).
On their first visit, they must talk to the Sensei. He will explain what to do, as well as giving them a starter pack.
According to the Belts Legend, belts are earned faster if players use competition mode instead of playing on a mat. The belts rank from white belt to black belt (excluding the rank of Ninja). For the exact order of all the belt colours, see Belts.
Since the 28th of May 2009, players could see their deck at the Dojo and Dojo Courtyard. They need to click on the 3 cards that are at the down-right angle of the screen.
Contents[show] |
Once players have the Starter Pack from the Sensei, go to a mat, or talk to the Sensei and select Competition Mode (as mentioned before, competition mode is recommended as you get new belts quicker doing it). If they use a mat, they will have to wait for another player to come and play with them, which might take a while. If noone comes to your mat, switch to a busier server, or a match can also be found in under 10 seconds by speaking to the Sensei via Competition Mode. The aim of the game is to beat opponents by collecting sets of winning Card-Jitsu cards. Only certain cards will beat others, via the form of Rock Paper Scissors. It has similarities to the card game Rummy in the sense that players are required to collect sets (known as “runs” in Rummy) to win. The game applies everyday elements and logic.
Once players have an opponent, they will be taken to the arena, and will bow to each other. They then have 20 seconds to choose a card. If they fail to choose a card, one will automatically be selected after 20 seconds. Once both players have chosen a card, they are revealed. Then winner keeps the card to help make a set. Remember that:
However, in the event of similar types of cards being drawn, the card with the highest number wins. If the numbers also match, then no-one wins that round. Although there are lots of phenomena that can affect this, which explained in detail, later in the article.
Power Cards are slightly different to normal cards. They have the highest values and have a special power. A few of them (for the next round only) low value cards to beat high value cards of the same style. I.e, a 2 to beat a 9.
There are two ways to win Card-Jitsu. Firstly, players can have the same type of card (such as Snow), but three in different colours, such as Red, Blue and Green. Alternatively, you can have one of each card, in different colors. You can also see how to win by mousing over the question mark (?) in a game.
When players win a round, your penguin might perform an action. They are as follows:
(Note: Different player’s starter deck only have one (or two for a few players) of the power card below, unless you unlocked it with Club Penguin Trading Cards.)
After winning a certain number of games, players are rewarded with a belt:
To become a Ninja, players must beat Sensei after winning a Black belt. But beating Sensei is difficult as he has cards never seen in the deck that he gives players. There are Level 11 cards and rare Level 12 cards which are rarely seen. Sensei also seems to be rigged as when played against him as he always picks the card that wins. However after players lose to him a few times (usually 5 or 6) he stops playing unfairly and they will have a chance to beat him.
(In certain cases you are rewarded a belt regardless.)

Snow Trekker & other new toys! We’re excited to tell you about some new toys that’ll be coming soon. The Snow Trekker & Space Ship are different from the other Club Penguin toys that have come out, so we’d really love to hear what you think!
The Snow Trekker has some cool history in Club Penguin. In the very, very first Penguin Style catalog, it was on the back page listed as “out of stock” and ever since then a lot of you have commented about it. You may have seen it at a few parties – and even in the Elite Penguin Force DS game! Have any of you seen it anywhere else on the island? And what about this Space Ship… Does anyone know the play this is from?
These new ‘pull and let go’ toys will be available very soon. Also coming to North America (and then later to the UK and Australia) are Series 2 Pet Puffles. Just like your pet puffles in Club Penguin, they’ll show off their unique personalities:

We got a lot of awesome answers – it’s always hard to pick just one – but we thought this one was very cool:
Ever have a favorite party you just don’t want to end? That’s how I felt about the Water Party! Club Penguin can make parties into anything! I remember how that crab broke the glass, allowing water onto the island. Penguins didn’t know what to do! So, we got a hose, a couple of inflatable animals, and we started a water party! Wow!

New Toys Coming!
Hello Penguins!
What’s better than a Rockhopper, Aunt Arctic, or Squidzoid toy? How about all of them (and others!) available mid-June when the Series 3 Club Penguin toys come out?
You asked for Rockhopper (Limited Edition Penguin) to come back – and he’ll be back!! You’ll also see some brand new toys. I’ve heard that some of you have seen a few of the new ones in stores early! That’s awesome – and we wanted to let you know that The Treasure Book update will happen on June 15, so you’ll be able to enter your Unlock Items Online code then.
In North America, starting soon, you’ll see the new Series 3 toys at Toys’R'Us Stores, Disney Parks, and Disney Stores (including the Disney Online store). And for those of you in the UK and Australia, you’ll see the them later this summer, so keep your eyes open! As always, we’d love to hear what you think.
